Ignite, as you may recall, is a night of storytelling by passionate people. Everyone has five minutes with exactly 20 powerpoint slides to share something they are passionate about. It could be talking about cows, or tea or Norway. All ideas are welcome.
This means you should come speak
We are taking applications for speakers. The only rule is you are not promoting something, you are sharing something. We have a whole video that shows you how to give an Ignite talk (in the form of an Ignite talk of course). If you are interested or know someone who might be, please email Scott: scott@9clouds.com. Watch the video below for inspiration!
Of course, all are invited to come listen and join in on the fun. We’ll start finding our seats at 7:30pm for a night of learning, meeting and sharing. You can order drinks and potentially food at the Bistro as well.
Bring your passion, your applause and curiosity for Ignite IX!
9 Clouds and Wire Me Awake are bringing Ignite South Dakota #8 to downtown Sioux Falls, SD on August 22, 2012 at the Museum of Visual Materials. Speakers will start around 7 p.m. with a 15 minute intermission after the first half.
Afterwards there will be a happy hour with Wire Me Awake so you’ll want to stick around for some social time, meet some people from Yankton and learn about the Wire Me Awake conference in early October.
There’s a great list of speakers so far with topics ranging from mommy bloggers to golfing to altruistic aims in the professional life and comic books – but we’re still taking names if you or someone you know would be interested. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
We encourage all who attend to use the hashtag #IgniteSD8 to tweet about the event and pass on the passion.
Our most recent Ignite SD event was held in Lead, SD as part of the South Dakota Festival of Books. To kick off our videos from that event, here’s Karen Everett talking about what inspires her–her hometown of Lead, SD.
