On Monday August 2nd, the third Ignite SD event took place in Sioux Falls, SD at the Museum of Visual Materials. There were over 70 people in attendance, breaking the previous Ignite SD attendance record set in Brookings. The speaking topics ranged from creating a bucket list to mating butterflies. Each speaker was confident and motivating as they talked. Often times you could see the passion in their eyes as they explained their unique topic.

The museum was a wonderful location that offered a great space for the speakers as well as the listeners. Thanks to sponsors Musical Edge DJ and Baby Dolphin we had great audio and videos of the talks can be found on IgniteSD.com in the coming week. We also must thanks sponsors The Post SD, 9 Clouds Inc., and Dahle Communication for making the event possible.

The topics were great, the drinks were cold and the people were friendly! Some more examples of the great topics were free range kids and developing inspirational iPhone apps. The huge turnout and wonderful topics leave us very anxious for the next Ignite SD.

We’re also pleased to announce that thanks to the generosity of 70 plus member audience we were able to raise $131.25 for our charity of the evening, River of Hope. 9 Clouds, hosts of Ignite SD, will match the audience contribution and write a check to Nathan Heinert of River of Hope for $262.50.

Hi everyone! It’s been nearly a week since Ignite SD #2 in Madison, SD and boy what a night it was.

With over 50 people crammed in elbow to elbow at Mochavino in Madison, seven great speakers entertained and enlightened the crowd. Topics ranged from worms, sailing, Tanzania, conquering fear, and more. The packed crowd was into the event and though it was quite warm in the cozy coffee/wine bar a good time was had by all.

Many thanks to all our sponsors of Ignite SD #2. To Mochavino for being a great host. To Baby Dolphin for filming the speakers (videos of all seven speakers coming soon). To 9 Clouds, Inc. and The Post SD for making the event possible. Finally, to the Madison Area Arts Council for promoting the event and letting us know about White Night on July 1st.

Also, we’re proud to announced our generous crowd raised $73 to donate to charity : water. The $73 will be matched by 9 Clouds and with the $52.89 and 9 Clouds match in Brookings at Ignite SD #1, we’ve been able to donate $251.78 to a phenomenal cause.
